It looks like April is going to be a one or two post kind of month. Blame end of term and Costa Rica, where I just spent the past ten days reading novels on a porch or beach and searching for wild animals in the jungle (we saw massive sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand in the night, though, which was maybe the coolest natural thing I have ever been witness to).

But it does seem like a few other art blogs have seen a flurry of activity while I was out of town, in particular the View on Canadian Art site which has now hosted two interweb debates about issues of funding, support and institutional acceptance in the past week.

This one, in response to a National Post article advocating that the government stop (or reconsider their position on ) public funding of the arts, has been particularly heated. It all reminds me of the very formal debate we had at York on the exact same issue, but I think the trauma of that first event hasn’t left my system yet and I feel incapable of making comment on the VoCA blog.
